Bea is her name to honor her late father. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian died when he was just three years old. He was an equine veterinary. Bea wasn't told the specifics of his passing away until she turned 13. To honor her dad, she took the stage-name Bea and, in the year 2017, published an article on suicides that affected the family she was raised by for The Guardian. Bea (and her younger sister Sinead) was raised in the same home as Helen Moloney, who was a school instructor and trainer of jockeys who was a professional jockey. Their family was enthralled by races and horses. Bea was a guide at The Irish National Stud in her young years. She knew, however, that racing wasn't what she wanted to do for a living and that she was more interested in to perform.
